Liberec and its surroundings offer many opportunities for summer and winter sports. In the surrounding mountains there are plenty of fully equipped ski slopes as wel las cross-country skiing, biking and hiking trails. Directly above Liberec there is Ještěd Mountain with an unusual mountain hotel at its peak. Hotel Ještěd has won the World Architecture Award. On the slopes of Ještěd there is a ski jump area, which hosts world-class events. Directly in the center of Liberec is a 50 meter swimming pool, a climbing wall and Babylon entertainment center with an aqua park, laser game, IQ Park and other attractions. In the newly built Tip Sport Arena there is bowling, shooting, squash, badminton and table tennis in addition to ice skating.
